Cursis melodías cantaré toda la semana para tí.

(denim shirt - Pull&Bear / dress - Zara / gladiator sandals - local store in Guanajuato, Mex. / rings - local market)

I've been obsessed with a song called "Cursis Melodías" (it would translate to "Corny Melodies" or something like that), by Mexican songstress Natalia Lafourcade. I didn't use to hear that much music done by Mexican or Latin artists, because what you can hear on the mainstream over here (radio, music channels and such) is either what I consider very stupid pop, lame rock, or things that are more on the side of Mexican north's traditional music (which by the way I do not enjoy). But since I heard that song in particular my faith in national and Latin musicians has grown a big deal, and I've started to hear more and more music in my mother language. Fact that strangely makes me happy LOL. Also, the video of Cursis Melodias is so pretty, and so fashion-wise inspiring to me, that I want to share it with you: Cursis Melodías music video. I love the styling in this, so vintage and girly, with her flowy dresses, granny-esque cardigan and shoes, flowers in her hair and color thights.

(If you do watched it, and want to know what the heck is she singing about (in case you don't know Spanish) just ask for a translation and I would gladly do it.)

Pink sherbert popsicle lips.

Yup, that's pretty much all I wore to my birthday party. Just a pair of pretty high heels, and a body-con dress with puffy 80's-ish shoulders. Which all my friends referred as a Lady Gaga-ish dress, but I just didn't get it, it isn't extravagant enough... I think (my makeup on the other hand was inspired by Gaga, I just toned it a little bit down by not doing the super big eyebrows). Then again, my fashion sense tends to be too bold compared to what every one else wears around here. If you want my opinion, most people's style over here is mild, they all blend together, and well... I like standing out hahaha.

Those photos are really REALLY old, they were taken on January, so go figure. I'm very truly sorry I haven't updated in such a long time, but some happenings in my life had made me kinda upset, and I was feeling like doing nothing. I was even skipping school like a crazy person. BUT, now I'm feeling back on track and I'll be updating regularly as I used to.

Also, I'd like to thank to all the people that follow me, and to all of you who leave me lovely comments. You make me smile :)

It's fascinating to observe what the mirror does.

I skipped all my classes today to remember when I used to do that back in high school LOL. I've been so nostalgic about those years lately that I felt like reviving them just for today. It was nice to be so reckless again for a little while (: Wish I could go back to those days. Best years of my life for sure!

I've been obsessively watching The Hills this week. Since I stopped watching the show on season 3 or 4, I really don't know; I started to watch it all over again since season 1, in order to refresh my memory, and then I'll catch up. I'm already about to end season 2 LOL. Really, I've had forgotten how stylish The Hills' ladies were, and I'm happy I was remembered because now I have another source of inspiration. This is my first attempt at a The Hills inspired outfit, hit or miss?

By the way, check out my friend's César S. LookBook :) he's a very stylish dude. And also take a look at this stylish bus LOL.

It's been more than a week since last time I updated, I'm so sorry. I'm not making any excuses, but last Monday I went back to school and you know how that can be. Anyways I wanted to thank everyone that commented on my last post. I've never had that much comments and it made me very happy LOL also everyone were so sweet! Now I'm definitely going to pull out my old hot pink extensions again while I save up money for new light pink ones. On another matter, that's my take on the denim-on-denim trend. Isn't it funny how just last year wearing jeans with a denim jacket was considered tacky and now it's trendy?

Also, there's something I want to share with you...

Isn't that cute? I recently discovered there's a hummingbird's nest on the tree that's in my backyard. There are two little baby hummingbirds, behind the head of one you can see the beak of the other. I wish I could have got closer to the nest to take a photo were you could see both babies, but I didn't want to scare them anymore with my big a*s camera haha. Last year there was a nest but on the tree that's in the porch. I wonder if that could be considered of good luck or something.

S.O.S

I was chewing on the idea of making this blog a little more interactive, and the more I thought about it the more i liked it. So this is how it would work, whenever I make and outfit post I think is too simple, I'll ask you guys to tell me what could I do to make it a little more interesting. What kind of accessories would have looked better, maybe a different kind of shoes would have made a difference, stuff like that. So let's start with this, give me your suggestions. Just keep in mind you have to keep it the clothing very light because the heat can get pretty intense here LOL.

I so don't beat anybody at Guitar Hero, I SUCK at it, I just thought the t-shirt was funny. But I totally kick ass in Rock Band, and yeah... sometimes I can be a total geek LOL.

My BFF flew over here from Baja California last Sunday and we've had a blast since then. She's going back next Tuesday and I really don't want that to happen but well... I'd rather concentrate in making these few days the best, so the good memory will last until I can go visit her this summer. So of course that means taking a lot of pictures. And also the weather cast has announced very hot days approaching, with temperatures going from 36ºC (97ºF) to 41ºC (105ºF), does anyone know about a look book, editorial or whatever from which I can draw inspiration for really light outfits?

Always stay cool, like a lady

Today I hanged around with a pair of my closest friends, and while we intended to go to a bakery shop called El Puro Cielo ("Pure Heaven"), where the best cookies and brownies of whole Monterrey are sold; we stumbled upon a frozen yogurt store, and since it was really hot, we rather went in there. It was called Orangecup, and it's like a Pink Berry thing, frozen yogurt with fruity toppings, which is great, because since I heard of Pink Berry and tried it in a trip to San Diego, I longed for a store like that in here. Orangecup was actually pretty good so I'm definitely going to be a regular there now. Also I bought a bottle of Chanel's  Mat Lumière foundation. It was so pricey! but totally worthy of every cent. Three weeks ago I noticed I was almost out of foundation so I went in the search of new options because I wanted to switch brands, the old one was way to oily for my skin and didn't have enough coverage for my Cameron-Diaz-bad skin (no offense intended, she's one of my favorite famous people  and I personally ADORE Cameron Diaz, but have you seen a picture of her with no make up? well, I'm like that too, ugh). I had to add on top a layer of Mac powder foundation and it was just too heavy during winter, I don't want to now how would that be in a hot weather. Any way, I went to Chanel just because I saw it first, and after the employee applied some foundation on my face for me to try it I just fell in love with it. It was ultra light and, GOD! my skin looked flawless. After weeks of struggling in my head to spend a part of my next August's summer trip savings on it, I finally grabbed the money and didn't look back. It hurted a bit when I had to pull the money out of my wallet to pay, but it was a good investment. Or at least I think so.
